Superb compilation of reactions to the special session proposal. The framing around administrative disenfranchisement rather than outright suppression captures something crucial about how modern voter restrictions operate. I watched similar mid-decade redistricting debates play out in another state, and the timing always seems to coincide with demographic shifts that threaten incumbnet power. The Fair Districts Amendment argument is probly the strongest legal angle but enforcement remains the hard part.
These Republican leaders want to redistrict to preserve Republican control (what's good for Ron DeSantis is good for America); they assume that Republicans are fine with censorship, citizen repression, ICE raids to rid America from 'Brown People'; extrajudicial murders on the high seas; privacy; kidnapping; and unchecked war. If so, we can rename the Republican Party to the American Fascist Party (AFP).
DeStupid is really flailing on all fronts: his pathetic attempts to remain relevant even as the lamest of ducks; his partisan hackery for the benefit of the part of Florida and its citizens he cares about, ot for themselves but for his personal political future, if he has one; and a last look at his overarching ignorance and unlikeability.
DeStupid was never for a moment "America's Governor."
Emperor DeSantis must be opposed on his redistricting plans to please his majesty King Trump to avoid any future power grabs by the Republican regressives.
While I consider mid-decade redistributing to be dishonest political gamesmanship rather than serious governance, these advocacy groups and Democrats might as well save their breath for another time.
Florida is too far down the rabbit hole of the MAGA mentality to be anything but a deep red state for years to come. Atherosclerosis within the west coast counties will ultimately be more effective at balancing the state’s representation more so than anything non-MAGA citizens can do.
This is because Miami-Dade turned Blue and they know what’s coming, isn’t it. Disgusting.

Redistricting, obviously. Who said AI spellcheck was helpful.
DeSantis is just a wannabe Trump Do not redistrict The current districting was done according to law. Do not break the law
