An inside look at a novel in progress: How I'm writing Scribbles From Earth

A glimpse of the writing process as I start out conceptualizing and beginning the second episode of this work in progress

Scribbles From Earth is a novel in progress, and you are invited to participate in its creation as I post episodes as they are completed on ScribblesFromEarth.Substack.com. Several readers have already offered very helpful ideas, so thank you.

It occurred to me that some of you might be interested in watching the actual writing taking place, so I video recorded the first few minutes while beginning the second episode of the book. If you watch this video, you’ll hear me say that I hoped it would be completed in a couple of days. In fact, I finished it last night. So, if you wish, you can see the first few paragraphs here and compare them to the “finished” episode on the Substack website.

I use the word “finished” advisedly since I know I will be going back and fiddling with it some more, but at least this will give you a flavor of the process since the entire idea here is to make writing this book as open and accessible as possible.

Let me know what you think and if you’d be interested in seeing any more videos like this. Took a bit to figure out the technology and how to do it, but it turns out to be fairly easy, so I’m happy to do it if you like.
