The trouble with the illustrated DumbTell TP is that l cringe when I imagine those puckered lips coming near my privates. I do not want that monster to be anywhere near me.

How many people, do you think, would buy DDT paper (Deranged Donald Trump) for their privies?

A number of readers have asked if Miss Mingo has merch, so, with the help of my daughter, a talented artist, we created a coffee mug and tee shirt. It's on the newly launched Tropic Press Store. Thanks for asking.

JC, I find the articles you compose are not only beneficial in the obvious respect but also with everything I do day in and day out. In this very divisive world we now live in (Trumpland) so many negative aspects are attacking us everyday. It's gotten to the point where some people I know are retreating and avoiding issues altogether. We both know that's not a good thing. The less people disengaged means lost votes. It's difficult for me not to chastise them or use powerful words in an attempt to arouse their "fight". Some have just become so numb to it. Others try to explain why they've "dropped out" of it altogether. They feel as though there's nothing they or any person can do. I've received the dismissal of so many claiming protests and rallies "don't work". It'll just fall on deaf ears. No one will do anything about it and lo'and behold if you watch or read the news it confirms nothing is being done. Not enough anyway. So motivation is a great key in getting people to be active about their convictions by voicing them, insisting them and following through with them no matter the result. We simply try our best and do what's good for the people not just a sector of the population especially one where hate and bigotry paired with ignorance and violence is prevalent and "in your face". It's a far cry from where we were were going in recent years. It seems 2016 was a tremendous weight for all of us to burden and honestly it almost killed me. Thank God for that yet it was the beginning of the worst period of time in my life. At age 67 I recall my childhood where we had a party line and a rotary dial phone a tube style TV and a family meal every evening of the week. We boomers have seen a whole lot of change in our (almost) lifetime. So to see the direction of where things are heading is a frightening and disturbing journey. It's no wonder people shut down. But you've engaged me in discussion and debate again which I've refrained from doing chastised by some people who find phrases to intimidate and discourage me from speaking out against Trump ism and I thank you for your first very unexpected email containing a delightfully refreshing article for sane, educated and reasonable free thinkers here in this not so free state of Florida. As a Bostonian implant you can realize my discontent with state government here. We were JFK all the way as we supported our neighbors who were rational and logical thinkers not to mention great supporters for human and civil rights for all people. I'm a registered Democrat, always have been and will be because it matters that I'm on the right side of history. I never bent for the bullies and I wouldn't to save my bank account. My integrity isn't compromisable. It's as steady as my moral compass and that's worth it's weight in gold. Not to be confused with the guilded icons and overly gauche "Trump gold". As solid as the golden cherubs are (are they really) they'll always represent a cheaply-plated man with no substance or one human quality trait we can relate to. Your column sparked that "reignite" button and I'm out to spread the word for the good of all people. Again, thank you for your contribution whereas it's so very important to be a voice amongst all the noise in our current system. When all is over and done and justice somehow plays out without the interference of pocket-lined politicians and justices I'm going to look forward to the newly released video game on this one! May we all breathe again one day soon! All of my genuine gratitude!
