It's frustrating when your government, the people who are supposed to be working for you turn their backs on their sworn duties. Mike Collins calls for Congress to go home a day early. No surprise. He, like a lot of other people working in government disregard the appropriate policies when it comes to what concerns the average American citizen. The corruption in Washington has long been overlooked and it's very enlightening to see it happen before your eyes as though we're all blind. You can read between the lines every time there's something going on which is, of course each and every day. Crime doesn't take a vacation. It's a 24/7 operation and I'm still in shock that we have Trump as president. Pure shock. I believe most people in this country would like to see him gone but where would that leave us? It would leave us with JD Vance and that's not a gamble I would not want to take. That man is dangerous. The fact that the House Speaker decided to close session a day early is an admission in itself. Congress has not and is still not following any will of the people. The faction of US government is not functioning the way it's supposed to. It's not performing it's duties in accordance to the US Constitution. There's been an extensive period of time where the American people have not called government officials out on their lack of compliance with the Constitution. The fault lies with the American people. Congress has been allowed to fall short of their obligations to the American people though complacency. More and more people disinterested in American politics for so many years leaves a faction of government to run amuck. Now that the "muck" is so obvious, so in your face and blatantly obvious we hopefully have a lot of people rethinking their relationship with American government with open eyes. We have a tendency to generalize as a society and that behavior has caused a disconnection between many different types of people. Grey areas narrowed since the seventies and the 80s clones pretty much dissolved any we had left. Tolerance for people who didn't look, act, speak, work, dress or eat like you dwindled. I believe we fought for identity in the 90s. No one really knowing where they "belonged" we just moved through that decade hoping we'd survive Y2K. Through the past 25 years or so I don't believe we know ourselves never mind other people. It's almost as though we never regained a sense of who were are as a nation. So again, complacency fosters displacement. Displacement fosters disassociation and very easily a divisive country. I've never seen such deep divides within the country and you really have to be aware of what that looks like to truly realize it's there. There was a time where the uneducated wanted to be like the educated but in recent years I've seen the rebellion against the educated by the people who did not afford themselves an education. It wasn't just for the degrees I went to college for the social connections and the awareness of many different people from all walks of life congregated on one campus. The views and opinions, the background stories and the knowledge of "who" they were. To me it's a shame all people don't have that curiosity. That willingness to open themselves to get to know all different kinds of people from so many different places. At age 67 I'm contemplating taking another class just to get back out there and experience the collegiate melting pot. I guess the point of my comment today is that we need to stop bickering and bring that sense of community to a broader area that includes not only your neighbors, not only the development you live in, not only the town you live in but with you where we you go. If we can come together in awareness that this is what American needs in order to call out these factions of US government and force them to execute their duties according to the US Constitution we may be able to recapture "who we are as a nation".
Mr. Hegseth is widely recognized as a buffoon who is truly in a position beyond his abilities. By avoiding a vote it lets the Republicans in Congress off the hook as having to decide what is in the best interests of this country or once again kissing Mr. trump's backside.
So the House is afraid that bringing impeachment vote for Hegseth would pass?!?
