Dear Readers:
If you have noticed the Tropic Press newsletter missing from your inbox, it is not because I’m not here pounding away at the keyboard. Email delivery has degraded dramatically over the past few days.
As a quality control check, I email myself at several different addresses when I post each of my Tropic Press reports, and I’ve found nearly all of them suddenly landing in my SPAM folders. Even my sister wrote me yesterday wondering if I’ve been on vacation (I wish) because she wasn’t seeing my stuff over the last few days.
I’ve contacted Substack support and learned that I am not alone in experiencing this problem. So far, their only advice is to ask readers to check their SPAM folders and send the newsletters to their inbox. This is supposed to train the algorithm or something.
I pointed out that this is a little challenging since the letter I would send to readers—THIS ONE—might also end up in SPAM. They suggested one setting change, which I used in this morning’s newsletter and this email, so here goes.
Hopefully this will be resolved, but I wanted to give you a heads-up in case, like Sis, you thought I was goofing off. (Actually, she was just concerned and was checking up on me.)
If you’re getting this but have missed some previous posts, you can always catch up on the Tropic Press website.
There are also helpful hints online on how to retrain your inbox depending upon which email provider you use. I’m trying that out myself, but I do realize that’s a huge inconvenience. My apologies.
Respectfully,
J.C. Bruce

Good morning, Bruce! I did get one of Miss Mingo's emails tossed into spam so I have now tagged your email as 'saved>newsletters' to prevent it from happening going forward.
Thank you for the head's up! I don't want to miss anything :)
I’m reading it every day. Haven’t missed any.
