Epstein letters tie Trump to "girls." Ghislaine Maxwell wants out of jail. The final signature is imminent to force release of the Epstein Files
Many of Jeffrey Epstein's crimes took place in Florida where Trump now calls home about two miles from Epstein's old Palm Beach mansion
We have three major developments in the Epstein Files saga today:
Democrats in the House of Representatives have released emails from deceased child molester Jeffrey Epstein in which he said President Donald Trump “spent hours at my house” just down the road from Trump’s Palm Beach mansion.
Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s convicted pimp, wants out of the minimum-security facility in Texas, where she was recently transferred from Florida through the good graces of Trump’s Attorney General Pam Bondi, formerly Florida’s A.G., who owes her career to Trump.
House Speaker Mike Johnson says he will swear in newly elected Arizona Rep. Adelita Grijalva of Arizona, a Democrat who has promised to be the crucial 218th signature on a discharge petition to release the Epstein Files, which Trump calls a “Democrat hoax.”
Democrats serving on the House Oversight Committee said they have reviewed thousands of pages of Epstein documents so far, and among them was a message in which Epstein said Trump “knew about the girls.”
“These latest emails and correspondence raise glaring questions about what else the White House is hiding and the nature of the relationship between Epstein and the president,” California Rep. Robert Garcia of the Oversight Committee, said.
While this was being disclosed, House Democrats wrote a letter to Trump regarding an apparent attempt by Maxwell to have the president commute her 20-year prison sentence for sex trafficking.
The letter said Maxwell “is preparing a ‘Commutation Application’ for your Administration to review, undoubtedly coming to you for your direct consideration. The Warden herself is directly helping Ms. Maxwell copy, print, and send documents related to this application.”
CBS News also reports:
The letter also alleges that Maxwell is receiving preferential and lenient treatment at the Bryan federal prison camp in Texas, where she was transferred over the summer after meeting with Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche to discuss the Epstein case.
“Federal law enforcement staff working at the camp have been waiting on Ms. Maxwell hand and foot,” says the letter signed by Rep. Jamie Raskin, the ranking Democrat on the committee.
Finally, after a nearly two-month-long paid vacation, Republican members of the House of Representatives will return to work today to consider the Senate-approved budget package, which could lead to the end of the government shutdown.
House Speaker Mike Johnson has used this elongated recess as an excuse not to swear in Congress’s newly elected representative from Arizona, Adelita Grijalva, who has promised to sign a petition that would force a vote on a bill requiring the release of documents related to the Epstein case.
Those would be the same files that Pam Bondi said she had on her desk that somehow have since mysteriously disappeared.
Maybe we’ll finally get to see what’s in them now.

Giselle Maxwell should never be released by pardon and must be put in a maximum security prison instead of a summer camp
The final signature is imminent - unless there are GOP signers who withdraw. I wonder what changed for Johnson. Why did he decide to swear in Grijalva?
