I have been a poll worker for 10 years and a poll watcher for 4 years before that and I am proud of the work we do. We have to go through training before each election. I can not speak for how other states or counties handle their elections but from my first hand knowledge of how things are done in Duval county accuracy is first and foremost. No one who is registered to vote is turned away. Duval supervisor of elections have made their facility where all the behind the scenes action takes place available for tours. NO SECRETS! I have taken the tour and had every step along the way explained to me. There is a commitment to get it right. As partisan as I am, on election day and during early voting every poll worker is there to help and process every voter no matter what their party affiliation is. I have been asked many questions over the years including "who should I vote for", today I can give you an earful but when I am working not so much.
