State Republican politicians have raised ass-kissing to an artform. For 50 years I was a registered Republican till Donald Trump came along. My values haven't changed, but my ethics and moral values cannot support a bunch of clowns whose sole purpose is to make themselves richer on the coat tails of Mr. Trump's illegal and unethical actions.
i am a native Floridian and have watched in disbelief as Republican governor after Republican governor has endeavored to destroy Florida as we knew it. Jeb Bush, awful Rick Scott and now the absolute worst, Ron DeSantis! It's disheartening to begin with to see Mr. Trump put his name on everything he can and then attempt to do the same in Florida (which, we all know, is NOT his native state!). We, the people have absolutely no input any more, it seems, unless we are part of the Trump Republican party. We are still the United States of America, not the United States of Trump and this naming everything after himself should stop! We have lost respect and our standing in the world, thanks to a convicted felon serial sexual abuser and now it seems, we will have to see his name everywhere. And, please remember, it is not just Florida ... it is anywhere he chooses to praise himself.

I spent a year in Franco's fascist Spain and I can tell you that the fascist of fascists did not do nor allow this kind of silly self-promotion. Perhaps Franco was ashamed for overthrowing an elected government and killing many thousands of his fellow Spaniards, but he kept a low-profile. It is amazing to me that I can compare Franco favorably to Trump.

Of course, names for airports are chosen by the airport's owner (subject to FAA and ICAO approval), which in the case of Palm Beach County Airport is ... wait for it ... Palm Beach County! If MAGA morons had control of Palm Beach County, they wouldn't need legislation to give them the right to change the name. Since they don't (as the Palm Beach County Commission has a 4-3 Democratic majority), it's hard to see how the Florida Legislature can constitutionally write a law that usurps the county commission's right to call what it owns by whatever name it wants. That's a pretty basic right!
But, of course, MAGA morons don't care about anyone else's rights.
