Is there a way for Florida residents to demand that this new legislation be put on the November ballot? Shouldn’t we the taxpayers have a say in where our tax dollars are being spent? I believe that you previously wrote how renaming the the mentioned airport will cost us millions of dollars. I personally would rather see that money spent on our teachers, first responders and the many children in our state who desperately need our help to succeed in life. Where has our humanity gone
I called my state reps to oppose the renaming of the airport. A lot of good that did. One big question in my mind is, can the name be changed back once the orange mad man is gone? And can we do the same with other buildings like the Kennedy Center. Further, will it be possible, once Trump is gone, to completely eradicate his name and likeness from everything he touched or his sycophants have had a hand in, like his board of peace with its intention to replace the UN? And can we tear down the grotesque gilded ballroom and remove the gilding from the Oval Office? I hope so.
A Democratic president can unwind much if not all of Trump's renaming. The airport is a state decision, though. Maybe the FAA in the future or Congress can do something.
Although I've gotten decent grades in marketing courses, I do not consider myself a marketing expert. I'm more of a marketing incompetent. That said, I do recall hearing actual product-branding experts cautioning against product brand debasement through, among other missteps, overuse.
Aspirin is an example where the brand name has become a common name for the chemical compound acetylsalicylic acid. Kleenex is a former brand name that became the common name for facial tissue. By allowing these brands to become common names for a class of products, their owners lost legal control over the brand. This phenomenon is sometimes called brand "genericide."
Another danger to brands is brand devaluation. Many consumers now associate the brand "K-Mart" with cheap, low-quality retail goods. The Trump brand is in particular danger of brand devaluation because of tawdry aesthetics (e.g., overuse of gold decoration), inflated pricing, and too many product failures.
The Trump branding strategy is another in the long line of examples of TAGIW (Trump always gets it wrong) behaviors. I actually have no problem seeing this going on because Trump's branding strategy is practically guaranteed to make pariahs out of all the things, from tawdry aesthetics to authoritarian governance, he espouses.
The institutions he is debasing that we would like to save can later be renamed or replaced, and the things, such as authoritarian rule, we'd rather do without can be allowed to wither and die. Eventually, we can expect Trump to join Dr. Samuel Mudd (of "Your name is mud" fame) in the annals of infamy.
I think we should name every Turnpike rest stop in honor of Trump. For example, Trump Restroom #6 South and so on! What about renaming Alligator Alcatraz to Trump Alcatraz or Alligator Trump or Alligator Wrestling Trump? The stupidity is endless.
For some reason, this is not making my hate fire flare. It’s so typical. And I imagine the global celebratory glee when the time comes to rip it all down. Along with all the Charlie Kirk crap. Like bringing down the Berlin Wall.
I left FL 3 weeks ago after living 15 min from PBI for 10 years. I will never set foot in that airport (and probably the state) as long as it bears his name. I don't even want to see it on a ticket or boarding pass. At least I won't be directly paying for it. My friends can brave the cold and come visit me in my new blue state.
No thoughts, just certitude. The creep only knows how to creep.
I’m surprised that anything Musk-related is so thorough, knowledgeable and articulate. I’m impressed, and I am worried that I find myself admiring Ai.
What I fear is a place where AI can do everything, people are superfluous and the earth becomes a cinder. AI doesn’t need oxygen or food or water. Or life.
The Trump sycophants will stop at nothing unless WE force them to. Make phone calls, send emails to state and federal representatives in congress. Demand rule of law and constitutional norms be followed. Boycott offensive and complicit companies and services whenever possible. Most of all stay informed and resist whenever possible peacefully and as John Lewis urged "make good trouble".
My Fl SS (Sycophant Senator) Mayfield introduced the airport naming bill.I call her and email often.Part of my last email.⬇️
I’m also appalled that you proposed 5 million in the budget to rename Palm Beach Airport after the president. That money could have been so much better utilized in Palm Beach County.Perhaps funneled to non-profits who are working to house and feed residents struggling under the current economy.
You also introduced the airport naming bill that essentially enabled the president to profit off his name with trademarks. Please don’t tell me he won’t be doing so……we’ve all seen the enormous grift that has benefited the president and his family under this administration. We The People are paying dearly for that grift.
who will next award himself the Trump congressional medal of honor, the Trump Nobel prize, a Trump Academy award, a Trump presidential medal of honor, etc. and surely to come is currency with his face plastered on it.and finally 👑Trump
I would never use that airport again, the only flight that’s gonna leave out of that airport is to hell
