About "fixing" the U.S. Supreme Court. (You should, according to Muppet Rowlf the Dog, "Never say 'fixed' to a dog!"
You can't just expand the court to, say, 11 justices, while Der Rot Fuhrer (look up the translation) is still stinking up the Oval Office. That would give the Moron in Chief free rein to pack the Court even tighter with more MAGA Minions (I'm sure he can still find some). This fix will have to wait until we have someone sane in the Oval Office.
Similarly, term limits won't do the trick, either. Reducing justices' tenure from lifetime to, say, 20 years would kick out the three worst of the SCOTUS miscreants, but Donald the Clown would just replace them with younger miscreants.
Of course, a sufficiently motivated Democratic Senate majority could just do a Mitch McConnell and refuse to confirm ANY justices nominated by buffoons (e.g., Donald Trump, J.D. Vance). It's been done before. As Frank Zappa once intoned, "Do it again. And, do it some more. It's nasty by golly. It's nasty for sure!" We'd end up, however, with a three-three tie between MAGA Minions and sane people when it counted.
One idea that might work (assuming it to be Constitutional, about which I am uncertain) would be for Congress to impose a code of ethics on SCOTUS justices with the threat of impeachment and removal for violations. Congress already has the power to impeach and remove SCOTUS justices. Imposing a code of ethics simply clarifies (and could make automatic) what "high crimes and misdemeanors" would trigger such action. The present MAGA Morons on the Court have already shown a penchant for committing removal-for-cause violations.
A narcissistic megalomaniac liar with power is not the problem. He can be removed any time. Morons who blindly follow him, either for personal gain or plain unrepairable ignorance, are the real dangerous problem.
I agree with your assessment and have a further thought. I don’t think the maniac can be removed anytime because of the morons who blindly follow him. If we swing the House and Senate, we can overcome the morons and more easily get rid of the narcissistic megalomaniac liar and his ignorant staff, the “Stepford clones”, his VP, Secretary of Defense (or war) etc.
We will massively vote to swing the House and the Senate. Trump's clones will vanish slowly, not because of shame, but because they will no longer be useful for big corporations. I suggest that we all demand the end of the Pay for play lobbying system in Congress through a solid legislation as soon as possible. Then, and only then, we can say that we live in a true democracy.
Even though I live in Florida, I had never seen the Gulf of America on Google Maps (which I used quite a bit to watch the fires in Spokane, where I have relatives). I found that if you Google Lake Ontario, Google itself quickly translates that to Lake America: it has relabeled the search itself, as well as the map. Wikipedia's article on Lake Ontario has one line about the recent attempt to rechristen it, but there is also an article about the "Lake Ontario naming dispute" which, apparently, some editors want deleted (perhaps because it is so current and needs constant updating).
Just removed Google Map and Translate from my bookmarks and placed Mapquest in its stead. Wrote a nice note to Mapquest thanking them. Thanks for the info. Love reading your posts.
Yes, I deleted Google Maps and downloaded Mapquest Navigation. When I tried to use it yesterday, Mapquest tried to send me into bumper to bumper standstill traffic on the highway I had just left. It never relented to plot a new course which I knew was possible. So Mapquest has some work to do!

Mapquest which I downloaded this morning, does take some getting used to. So far, its voice is not as good as Maos.

MapQuest has been my number one go to for many years. Never use Google maps. Have occasionally used Apple Maps.
