Did you notice the enthusiastic applause from the joint session of Congress at the comment from King Charles about the longstanding use of checks and balances in democratic government? This essential component of our constitutional government has broken down and nothing can be more toxic.

I'm surprised Congress didn't boo King Charles. They know what checks and balances are, but they close their eyes and do what they are told. Congress members spend their days commenting on X, all lies, all the time. It's sickening. America is rotting from the top down.

So many things. Republicans are more repulsive than ever these days. From the Supremes (no, not the group) to DeSantis, they are afraid to accept the will of the people. We accepted the dubious idea that Trump won in 2024 while he still can't accept his loss in 2020. So afraid to lose power. This is Florida; we lose power all the time.

Not to worry, Rubio will suggest that Rivera be pardoned. People who did worse things were pardoned only to continue doing bad things.

Yes, I read about the ridiculous reboot too; I almost choked on the coffee that I have auto-delivered from Amazon. Like the Trump family needs more money. Melania—sorry I missed it, NOT. Bezos is a great ___-kisser. If he hasn't donated to the ballroom project, the check must be in the mail.

But seriously, I hope we survive the Republicans, and we can by voting Democrat up and down the ballot. I don't care if Donald Duck is running as a Democrat; I'm voting for him, and I'm certain he will be better than the Republican. Let's not be like those people who sat out the 2024 election and gave Trump the win. Vote, vote, vote.

Dear J.C.

You are so right trying to push Democrats to to take an interest in running for office it seems that all of our problems start with local Republican legislation. We as democrats get mowed over when legislation gets passed. I fear there is no more right or wrong. Decisions are not made for the good of the people, but by who will most benefit from the outcome. While I understand why Desantis is pushing gerrymandering so that Trump loves him again , someone should tell him there are no no guarantees since the only one that Trump loves is himself.

J.C., thank you for checking the ballroom donation list. Always a key factor in every national security decision.

Careful with the satire, J.C., as there are naive readers like me who believed for 30 seconds or so that Cinco de Mayo actually had sosmething to do with mayonaise. It finally occured to me that it would have been impossible to keep mayo cool back in the day. Remember Art Buchwald who wrote satire for the WAPO years ago? WAPO did a survey and was astounded to learn that a third of his readers believed he was telling the truth.

I have cut back on Amazon purchases of late because the walking oversized cowboy hat is a disgusting trumpster ass kisser, but I will remove all purchases from Amazon if that bezos freak goes Apprentice 2.0 with the snow nose don the con jr.

And mini trump, the high heeled blunder boy desantis doesn't give a damn about the FL constitution, since his overlord in the White house doesn't give a damn about the US constitution. If there is no one to stop the arsonist, the fires will continue unabated...

In the constitution of Florida, what checks and balances are there to protect the constitution from a governor ignoring it? Are there repercussions?
