Gotta love taxation without representationโ€”NOT. Why do Republicans forget they work for all of us, even those they disagree with? I'm sick of going backward in time. And, you know, DeSantis will sign it. This is why we need term limits for the state legislature and Congress.

Florida is the worst for human rights violations and cruelty. Their justice system is broken and Third World attitude. Just look into it, they profess so called Christian values but cruelty is the bases of their ideology.

Representative Woodson nailed it: "...we are closing the door on understanding and compassion, and those are crucial elements for a thriving society.โ€ As President Washington said, "For happily the Government of the United States, which gives to bigotry no sanction, to persecution no assistance requires only that they who live under its protection should demean themselves as good citizens..."

The GOP party is completely anti freedom. They wish to impose their will upon the rest of us. The US Constitution says we we have both freedom of religion and freedom from religion. This social rigidity exceeds the scope, the authority, and the purpose of local government. This is not the purview where we have small lords who seek to control our personal lives. I think it should no longer be tolerated.

โ€œFreeโ€ State of Florida! You do use those words in jest, donโ€™t you? Whatโ€™s โ€œfreeโ€ about a place where elected officials are told what actions they can and cannot take on behalf of their constituents? What is โ€œfreeโ€ about a place where people are ostracized for superficial and ridiculous โ€œreasonsโ€?

โ€œOverwhelmedโ€ is an understatement!

It is time to start tossing out politicians who appeal only to their minority supporters! Where has quality and ethical behavior gone?

While the Florida legislature focuses on DEI and banning books it simply ignores the crisis of unaffordability in Florida. My home insurance just rose another $500 / yr bringing it over $8000 and I've never had a claim against this policy. Likewise, more shootings occur each week while the administration allows us to become the "gunshine" state. I guess the legislature is just not smart enough to deal with the real problems in this state. Time to vote them out!!!!

Aww yes, the "free" state of Florida. Every time I hear that phrase, I'm astonished.

This outrageous and deplorable. This is absolutely sanctioning bigotry and hatred and this law has to be challenged in every way possible. As much beauty as Florida has to offer, it's ugliness is taking over. ๐Ÿคฌ

Thank you for your succinct update on what is going on with our representatives in Florida. It is heartbreaking to read and knowledge is power. Thank you! I vote for humanity, inclusion, kindness and transparency. Write on!

More banning of things that Republicans don't and don't care to understand. But given that DEI is a workplace culture, I hope that these institutions do like Target and still practice it with a rebranding.

I wrote today, โ€œOverwhelmed is an understatement.โ€

And later I thought about the use of โ€œoverโ€ and โ€œunder.โ€ And the question is, โ€œhow does one express greater overwhelmed-ness? โ€œBuried,โ€ โ€œdrowned,โ€ โ€œannihilatedโ€?

These hateful laws are disgusting!

Here's an idea: Eliminate the race and ethnicity questions on ALL applications, be it for work, school, college, government employment and so on. Take the most promising ones, sight unseen.

Since the biggest recipients of DEI are the moneyed class, ie, rich white people, we should all welcome this ban. Maybe we won't have 'democracy', but most of us would have better lives.
