I was a first time poll worker at yesterday's (8/18/26) election and I left the Pinellas county poll at 9 pm absolutely exhausted. Not only physically but, more so, mentally and emotionally. I witnessed a mystery that I need help understanding. Many, in the district I was serving, who came to vote were tough bros wearing maga type hats and trump political t-shirts. As a poll worker, we could see their political affiliation. I was prepared for the trump bros but I was NOT prepared for all the men and women of color (Asian, Hispanic,and African mostly) who voted REPUBLICAN. Can you help me understand this conundrum? I cannot shake it.
I have been a poll worker for years. I did not go for this primary in Broward county. But I can tell you Asian American and Latino vote block are mostly republican leaning. The white guys are always GOPers in this state. I am not surprised. Still getting exhausted by ppl political affiliation is not the mission of a poll worker. We are there to ensure no matter what, the vote is accurate and clean. Whoever win by the popular vote cleanly. I am happy with it. Even if I don’t agree with them.

If you are with DSA and believe Israel defense from terrorist is “genocide” which is not. Then I understand what you are w Nixon. I don’t vote for pie in the sky stuff. I vote for real centrist. Jolly is centrist. Period. Nixon is not
Now is sure moody will win. The moderates in the Dems party will not vote for an antisemite and a DSA member. There will be a gap of voters that will vote nule for the senate. I hope jolly can win and demonstrate that centrist can win and extremist will lose. But I am not sure.

Jolly is not a centrist. Read his stance on the issues. He’s a white guy with the privilege of being left of center without being called extremist.
