This is historic: Trump demolishes portion of the White House in preparation for his new ballroom; he'd promised construction wouldn't do this
“It won’t interfere with the current building." -- Trump
“It won’t interfere with the current building. It won’t be. It’ll be near it but not touching it — and pays total respect to the existing building, which I’m the biggest fan of. It’s my favorite. It’s my favorite place. I love it.”
— Donald Trump
While millions of Americans can’t afford gasoline or groceries, President Donald Trump has other priorities.
Like building a gaudy $200 million, 90,000 square-foot ballroom at the White House.
And today, this photo was published by The Washington Post and widely circulated on social media showing construction workers ripping off the facade of the East Wing of the White House in preparation for construction.
Trump had specifically promised this would not happen.
Said liberal podcaster and author Bryan Tyler Cohen:
“Donald Trump is now officially demolishing part of the White House to make room for his $200 million golden ballroom. This comes as Americans can’t afford groceries and the government is still shut down.”
Given the historic nature of this event, I wanted to share these images with you as soon as they arrived.

WAIT.
I thought the White House was "the People's House"?
How far is "Too Far"?
This golden ballroom will cost more than $200m; the amount of faux gold leaf will see to that. It will be more garish than Mar-a-Lago, and utterly devoid of even a scintilla of class. Any semblance of rectitude, decorum, and civility will vanish with the very first "event" in this Room from Hell. Picture, if you dare, the invitees and their partners twirling around and around. Oh, the comedy, the vaudeville, the slapstick!
