Ok, Jeff. I love your work on the tropical Press, but why don’t you consider David’s example. With your following, you’d make a great candidate?

A basic political tenet, whether we want to admit it or not, is "Never underestimate the stupidity of of the Amercan voter." I could never bring myself to admit this. Sadly, I now admit it.

As a tourist in 2016 my return to VN was welcomed by VN civilians. They did not know I was once a Civic Action officer at Chu Lai or that I flew 198 combat missions in F4 Phantoms. Their gratitude was palpable as they recognized a "Yankee"with smiles and a pat on the back. I was humbled as I relived how much they have suffered. They knew the war was wrong but they recognized the anxiety and personal sacrifice of many of us who served. After college in 1965 I chose a Marine Corps commission instead of the Peace Corps. JFK would be proud of my choice, but Trump would never understand. At 84 I am appalled that America has such a selfish POTUS

J.C. wrote this morning "I would argue that there’s also “something wrong” with members of Congress who allow this madness to continue."I agree.

Members of Congress must have the same views and end game in sight as their idiot president, or are so ignorant of what is going on in this Country that they really have no business representing the people who I'm sure want no part of this lunacy!

It's time for Americans to band together and see to it that Trump is removed from office (legally by the will of the people, not by a repeat of January 6th type of tactics)!

Our Country is becoming a laughable circus led by an immoral clown (sorry clowns for this reference).Perhaps a new acronym, LTAB Let's Take America Back!

J.C., I've already commented on my opposition to redistricting and gerrymandering in general. The thoughts of another senator like Ashley Moody is terrifying. Here is a deep red representative, and I use the word representative loosely, who always mentions in her form letter replies to my messages that she proudly supports Trump's agenda. We don't need or want another one of these.

I wrote a blog post about the influence of lobbies some years ago that might be of interest.

Thank you. And there is quiet decent in the ranks when some Marines are saying, and it's caught on, Department of War Crimes.

We can't pretend that war isn't being waged in our own country either. The very basics of human dignity/survival like food, housing, education and healthcare, are getting further away for Amerucans. People, We the People, should have a higher priority than waging unnecessary wars. As a nation, how many times do we need to repeat history?

Thank you for the reminder that we need to remember that no matter how much we hate and disagree with what Private Bonespurs is doing, Congress is accountable here as well. VOTE THEM OUT!

Until Democrats embrace their 'inner socialist' by promoting the policies that made this country truly great, they will lose elections. Of course, Democrats who just practice party politics as vehicles for 'advancement', will never do this because they have no inner socialist. Many analysts speak of the 'duopoly', the fact that only cosmetic differences exist between Democrats and Republicans. It is time to put that meme to rest.

Isn’t it completely unbelievable ! Totally insane what dominates the political scene today . And just when we think that we have seen it all . The complete total despicable scoundrel , asshole , he posts an image depicting him as Jesus , which he lies again , and says the image was meant to be the portrayal of a Doctor . Never in my Life ( 72 years ) have ever I seen a man that needs to be eradicated more than him ! A rapist , a convicted , felon , a fraudster , a killer of innocent women and children , the instigator of the only riotous incursion on the Capital of the United States , the initiator of an unlawful , criminal war , a co - conspirator of the genocidal nation of Israel . And the absolute failure to mitigate the Covid Pandemic . Yes , inject a disinfectant into your veins and the will take care of everything . All of this is like completely unbelievable , except for it is happening as this is written ! ! !

Reading your post gets my morning started with a whimper or a curse or both. Yet, I am not going to stop reading, even if it were better for my health.

I know that I could do something - at least send money. But I do not send money to every outstretched hand that seems appropriate. I’m worried about scammers. Is there any study about which political organizations are the least wasteful and/or the most successful?

Towards the end of the 2016 election season, I joined a group called Pantsuit Nation which was looking forward to Hillary's win. It was exhilarating. After the election, some Florida people were talking about running for state office. What they discovered was that you definitely need a day job to support yourself on the salary of a Florida legislator. I knew exactly why those folks are drastically underpaid.... and don't need day jobs.

You're right, it is the army of lobbyists, PACs and don't forget the billionaires. It is sad that we no longer have representatives to represent the people. Our reps don't give a s__t about us. We've had for a while now a government without representation controlled by the aforementioned big money influencers.

We need to vote for our political people on a ballot. Not just being told by a person that might not be someone we as the people of FL wanted. Get rid of some of the newest laws that are tracking us through our state and writing tickets via cameras. This is just a way to bring revenue to the state. How much is the state paying for this to happen. We don't need a AI company tracking like ICE is using. This shouldn't be aloud in America.
