For eight days, newspaper editor J.C. Bruce and a group of other civilians traversed the country with the American military. They flew out to an aircraft carrier at sea and explored submarines in port. They witnessed live-fire assaults, Marine beach landings, and were rescued by Special Forces from the American Embassy in Nogoland. In a series of five reports, Bruce recounts what that was like and what it means to be a member of today's armed forces.
