Trump is not a king even if he signs his John Hancock on the dollar bill
Let him know how you feel tomorrow at the next No Kings Day rally
Donald Trump has decided he should be the first sitting president to have his signature scrawled atop America’s one-dollar bill.
No other chief executive has ever had the audacity. Historically, our greenbacks have been signed by the Treasurer and Secretary of the Treasury. Trump has decided to push the Treasurer out of the picture and add his John Hancock instead.
Of course, his sycophantic minions are all giddy.
“There is no more powerful way to recognize the historic achievements of our great country and President Donald J. Trump than U.S. dollar bills bearing his name,” said Scott Bessent, the Treasury secretary.
What are those achievements?
Well, let’s see. During his second term so far, he’s renamed the Kennedy Center in his honor, renamed the Peace Institute after himself, he’s stamped his name on a new class of battleships, he’s created a commemorative 24-karat gold coin bearing his image, and he’s pushing to have Washington’s Dulles Airport renamed for himself much like the Florida Legislature passed a bill to rename the Palm Beach County airport after Trump.
Yeah! Lots of achievements there.
He’s acting as if he were some sort of deity we should worship.
Or a king.
Which is why we are rallying at the next No Kings Day tomorrow.
The No Kings protests constitute a major, nationwide, peaceful mobilization against the Trump administration’s authoritarianism, violation of constitutional rights, and economic policies.
These rallies seek to demonstrate that America rejects a “king-like” leadership, with over 3,000 events planned across the country, which organizers say will draw millions of protestors.
And you are invited to attend.
But back to the dollar bill fiasco, the only thing surprising about Trump’s decision to sign his name to our currency is that he didn’t insist that his picture replace George Washington’s.
But there’s still time for that.
After all, that’s what would-be kings do.
If we let them get away with it.
Let’s not.

Mr. Trump is like an old tom cat. Has to leave his "mark" on everything he is around and it smells just as bad.
soon to be one of the most defaced, damning, and laughable, ego trips, that no one has ever seen before, I can promise you that!
