Many a truth is said in jest. He’s not joking about cancelling elections; he’s taking the nation’s temperature to see what kind of blowback he can expect. We need to make sure he hears a resounding “NO”.

I won't be saying it out loud because my parents are quite old and even though they are Maga I don't want to fight but internally I'm screaming I told you so when they talk about regretting their vote. And what's happening lately.

I told you so and you told me I was overreacting. I won't say it outloud but man is it tempting.

I’m glad they’re FINALLY seeing their mistake. You’re doing the right thing by not rubbing their noses in it. I know it’s hard.

It’s especially terrifying to even comment on anything that could be potentially politically charged or present in today’s discourse as a naturalized citizen.

Every single example in history of an elected official in the highest position of power suddenly claiming that there ought to be no democratic process shows the same result. One I would rather not explicitly describe. But we all have history books, don’t we.

It is now more than ever that we rely on Americans to stand up for people like me, a political science & pre-law student who is now terrified to express an opinion publicly, once again. And I thank you all for doing exactly that.

I agree. As the president of the United States you never say anything to the press seriously or joking about something like this. Not professional at all for a president.

Scarier part is the more Trhump gets away with the less the Constitution holds and whoever replaces Trhump will continue using the powers he has stolen and Vance or any of those tied to 2025 manifesto will make things worse , The midterms need to happen and need to be every voter attend and elect people not D or R but Americans and that will stand up to the tyranny this Manchurian Candidate has managed to pull off thanks to the 1/3 MAGiA and the 1/3 that did not think needed to vote

When this piece of s**t talks about being a dictator he believes his own BS. We should all be aware and do what we can to end this nightmare before there is no going back.

I am so glad you're on top of this. It's scary and I'm always waiting for the other Trump administration shoe to drop.

Thank you!

What a disgrace Trump is!! And press secretary is just as bad. What normal president would joke like that.

And publicly calling a man a “f***er” and giving him a finger! Shameful

He and his cabinet need to be removed before we lose our freedom

Maybe, if the people who listen to him because they believe in him, agree that we don't need to vote and then just THEY don't vote, it would work out.

Trump is right. Instead of elections we should just replace every MAGA republican politician with a Democrat and try to regain the sanity and national respect that this country had before Trump.

I wouldn’t vote for a Republican if they would last person on earth, not to mention a convicted criminal as our president

Absolutely words matter, he just does not know their meaning! Actually he knows but that doesn't stop him. As long as SOMEONE or SOME body gives in, he's off and running. It is a mistake to put anything past him. And his words do put his followers in a trance, where they lose their minds. The danger is real, and I am very afraid.

As the A hole stated on January 6th, we fight like hell! Engaging in peaceful protests, bombarding elected officials with our disgust and outrage and committing ourselves to proactively resist this POS!
