First, thank you for publishing my comment from last week.
I think it's sad that Brown can be fired for exercising her 1st Amendment rights. It is ridiculous that we taxpayers are on the hook, but she shouldn't have been fired in the first place. Look at all the slop on X. With that logic, most of our Congress critters should be fired as well as the liar in chief. I would rather spend money on this than on Alligator Alcatraz. 1st Amendment rights are for all, not just some.
Concerning the biologist that was fired. My question is if I'm helping pay her settlement for this illegal firing, does the person who fired her still have a job? I certainly hope not.
I was so happy that Stephen Colbert devoted so very little time to Trump in his final show. It probably ticked Trump off, realizing he was so unimportant that he was barely mentioned. Instead this was a celebration of Colbert and his many years of brilliant entertainment!
Re: Brittany Brown’s settlement of $485K (issue on May24, 2026), let’s also include defense costs also paid by taxpayers. Don’t know what the state paid to defend the suit, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it was between $50K and $100K. So we could be looking at $600K of wasted dollars because someone in government got upset at a social media post.
Does the DNC even know that Florida exists? You ought to start putting some heat on them, J.C., and to us voters as well. We can win this state. I'm sick of anti-vaccine and Alligator Alcatraz and being represented by MAGA clowns like DeSantis and Rick Scott. And Cuba? For God's sake, when are we going to get over it? It's been over 60 years, and we are still letting Batista supporters dictate our policy towards Cuba. Why? Oh, they're still pissed JFK didn't send in air power to support Our Bay of Pigs attempt to take Cuba back. Meanwhile, Florididans who depend on Medicare and Social security are forgetting it was FDR and LBJ who gave it to them and voting for Trump because he is a business man who tells it like it is. When are they going to start voting in their self-interests instead of preserving white entitlement? Absolute idocracy. And we let them get away with it.
I watch news on PBS, NBC , CNN and Bloomberg regularly. The reporters I watch are hard working, talented journalists and truthful. I become too sleepy to watch late night TV. I think Steve Colbert speaking his comedy truth is as deserving of a network audience as Tucker Carlson who invents his own truth. A discriminating TV audience can usually separate truth from lies by comparing reporting on other networks. I wish the FCC would identify fact from fantasy for me by grading network truth content with grade (A,B,C,D, F is OK).. I do not understand why networks cannot use AI to inform us when news content is false or not original. I am old (83) so please forgive me for asking a dumb question. What is the answer?

As a Floridian, I much prefer my taxes going to Brittney Brown over J 6’ers through Trump’s slush fund.
