Yesterday at 7 AM we gathered at our neighborhood corner; as we do the first Monday of every month to protest ICE! It started with 1& then 2 people. Yesterday was 24 people! Wow!! Even local tv news was there!! So when the reporter asked me “what do say to those swearing at you and turning up music louder at you?” I answered “they can swear at us and yell at us and we will still be here protesting in Love “
I cannot sit quietly with this intense anger ! I will not! I will do the most simplest act I can! Stand on a corner and hold my sign in PEACE AND LOVE!

It both enrages me and breaks my heart, they are pulling random people off the streets (who knows when it becomes people who just disagree with the government? Flock cameras anyone?) and sending them to god knows where, like cruelty is the point. 90% are in the extremely lengthy process of our disgusting immigration policies and have committed no crimes. They revoke visas, TPS, people just waiting for asylum cases to be heard- it doesn’t matter- I read more people under Holman (quietly) than Noem and I’m sure under the the devil himself, Miller’s command. Last time 45 was in charge I lived every single day in stress & fear - I got a 4 year reprieve. Even though i see some regret - I can’t help but be angry at the people who voted him into office again😠 and especially the ones who still defend him, while the daily disgusting news from this corrupt government has truly tested the boundaries of my mental health 🥺 VOTE BLUE 💙

Thank you for pointing out the obvious. Do much genrtic ignorance landed in this country with those folks as is apparent by the folks in the US today. Genetics are proof of what we are seeing and experiencing today.

I might point out that even Native Americans are descendants of illegal immigrants. Didja think that maybe the Siberian immigrants crossing the Bering Land Bridge during the last Ice Age (pun intended) got entry papers from the woolly mammoths and bison of North America before setting up camps in the Great Plains to hunt them? They didn't have valid passports. Nobody granted them visas. They should all be deported to, I dunno, Somalia!
In his 1862 State of the Union address, President Lincoln described the USA as "the last, best hope of Earth." My family arrived here full of hope, when there was no place else to go. It was great here for a long time. This article provides an egregious example of social injustice that we can blame on Republicans. Yet the Democrats have also abandoned social justice and rationality when it comes to the Jews. You are losing your best friends.

The world still loves Jewish people—they don’t love what Israel’s right-wing party is doing. Even retired military officers are speaking up against what is happening to their country. About "Because that’s what America is: A sanctuary for desperate people yearning for a better life…" I have a less optimistic opinion. For many if not most migrants, the US represents a place where they won't die. I suppose that "not dying" qualifies as a better life, but optimism ignores the state of things in Central America, Cuba, and Venezuela, et al, whose societies have suffered because of Western actions—wars, sanctions, corporate excess, climate change, and so on.
If American really wanted to solve the migrant problem, they would cease ruining other countries (and pay reparations for past actions).
And this is why my English born and bred husband here LEGALLY on green card is afraid to return home to visit his mother and sister, because not only might they not let him back in (his wife is, after all, a flaming liberal Demoncrat), they also might not send him back to England, but ship him to outer Mongolia. Not REAL likely, I know, but I can only empathize with people of darker complexion with a different accent who are 100% VERY likely targeted.
ICE cannot send a Cuban to a country the US is planning to invade. That's Cuba of course. Washington's extreme right does not want to recognize Cuba's authority or sovereignty.
Cruelty (and stupidity) is the point, with Republicans. More evidence that we might wish we could deport the people (ICE?) who created these schemes, even though we cannot.
I spent so time working in Africa and like everywhere else there are good places and not so good places and I’ve seen both. As I understand it they are being sent to the Central African Republic (CAR). The CAR ranks well below the “not so good places” in Africa. For all extents and purposes most of the country is ungovernable and what does pass as a government is totally corrupt and lawless. They will be lucky if they survive a week there. As far as I’m concerned this is nothing more than premeditated murder.
