Donald Trump’s latest press secretary—his sixth during his two terms—has set a record for the shortest tenure in the job.
After just 14 disastrous minutes in the White House press briefing room, and after questions about her credentials surfaced, she’s been sacked, according to news reports citing White House sources.
Trump had told reporters earlier that he had encouraged Zacharia to “reconsider” the job.
He added:
“Katie, do you need this? I don’t think you need this.”
Zacharia has been hounded by questions about her background. She presented herself as a lawyer, but, while graduating from law school, failed the California bar exam. So she is not licensed to practice law.
She mixed up the president and her husband during a fumbling first attempt at a press briefing and, essentially, fled the room after taking only three questions from friendly right-wing media outlets.
That fleeting appearance was her only formal action while on the clock in the briefing room, and she served a mere five days before being shown the door.
So, how did she get the job?
It was Trump’s call. He bypassed normal vetting procedures, notably his own chief of staff. This, from the guy who has bragged he only hires the best people.
Zacharia becomes his sixth press secretary to have left the job during Trump’s term-and-a-half in office, about one a year on average.
The complete list includes:
First Term (2017–2021)
Sean Spicer (January 2017 – July 2017)
Sarah Huckabee Sanders (July 2017 – July 2019)
Stephanie Grisham (July 2019 – April 2020)
Kayleigh McEnany (April 2020 – January 2021)
Second Term (2025–Present)
Karoline Leavitt (January 2025 – August 2026)
Katie Zacharia (October 2026 – October 2026)
Pundits have noted that Trump’s last three press secretaries have been blondes whose names began with the letter K.
Is that a prerequisite? Will that help determine who the next official White House spokesperson will be?
What do you think?

Wow! She didn't even make it a full Scaramucci!
Trump is a douche. Keep hiring the airheads who just say what he wants them to or can’t say anything at all. This last one? What a liar.
