I've attended a Jolly rally last year and he's a political breath of fresh air. After 8 years of DeSantis' ultra right policies it's time to turn over the office to new ideas and political ideology. It's not so much a question of any one one party being right or wrong, it's more a question of balance. That balance is best provided by the constant "tug o' war" that a two party system can provide if we let it.
I am also impressed by Jolly. Demings has an honorable name (Edward Demings) and some helpful policies, but his words indicate a desire to tweak the status quo rather than break it.
Government is a cooperative exercise. In a representative republic, which is what our ancestors (or, at least, my ancestors on my mother's side, who were here to fight in both Revolutionary and Civil wars) set up via the Declaration of Independence and U.S. Constitution, it takes cooperation between the Executive and Legislative branches to do anything substantive. The Judicial branch was set up to be the umpire that interprets the rules so everyone stays on the same page.
Note that neither document mentioned above says anything regarding political parties. That, and the left-right polarization they created are afterthoughts. The fact that we even care what party controls what branch is a bastardization of what was intended to be a delicately balanced system.
The Republican Party has explicitly said it wants to govern with no interference from their Democratic-Party rivals. That is exactly what the Constitution's framers were trying to avoid. Voters should take note of that. If GOP politicians don't want to participate in a cooperative government, voters should let them have their way by simply voting them off the island.
If someone doesn't want to participate in the cooperative enterprise of government, They don't have to participate by running for office. They can just sit on the sidelines and whine. We don't need them.
Yeah. What confounds modern politicians is that they actually meant what they said. What politicians can't seem to accept is that it fits perfectly with what scientists have learned about human individual and organizational behavior over the past three-quarters of a century. If they gave it half a chance, it would work just fine!
You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make 'em drink.
The goals of a democratic governed Florida prioritize the Peoples interests. When programs are not well managed it destroys the good intentions of the goals. Democrats must avoid incompetence by demonstrating responsible management everywhere. Criticism from republicans can be weakened when democratic management and organization is strong and spending is efficient. Waste must not be tolerated by state or federal programs.
I have to reference the infamous Powell Memo in 1971 that radicalized the Republican Party and outlined a method to capture the nation's political policies. It was directed toward undoing FDR's socialism of the New Deal and creating more opportunities for the wealthy to get wealthier—no more liberal Republicans like Dick Nixon et al.
To accomplish these goals, Republicans were encouraged to either run for office or pay handsome support to the Party, and the target was a total domination of American politics from school boards to the Supreme Court and to the Presidency. The handy neoliberal economics of Powell's time became the central pillar of this agenda: small government, few regulations, lower taxes on the rich. And they succeeded as Donald Trump is the culmination of Powell's Memo!
It is clear to everyone now that neoliberalism and Trumpism have vastly failed America. If this politics manages to continue, we can say goodbye to any semblance of democracy and civil rights and hello to the techno-feudalism of the new synergy of Washington and Silicon Valley. If the voters can shake off the thrall of media manipulation and put aside their pretend interests in that they are all just disadvantaged billionaires themselves, we can send the radical Republicans away on a slow boat to the Gulf of America.
I was commenting earlier on the 1.7 billion that the DOJ is handing over to Drump , along with Bodd Tlanche’s support . Pardon my vulgarity , it is the result of my through the roof anger over this payout to Drump from the DOJ at the expense of the tax payer . Fuck the DOJ , and Bodd Tlanche ! Take the DOJs robes if the members are wearing them , and flush them down a toilet , while doing it hold the heads of those owning those robes down the toilets as well ! Regarding Bodd Tlanche , disbar him , send him to Alligator Alcatraz , where he will scrub latrines for the rest of his life .
Take Drump and all of his administration , and family , strip them to bare assness , place them on a barge , and send them off to the North Atlantic . That to me would be very appropriate for them , and very uplifting to me ! They are all unscrupulous scoundrels , who deserve the most inhumane circumstances possible ! ! !
When an elected official objects to an election outcome, such disagreement must provide factual proof. There is no proof Trump was the victim of fraudulent vote counting. There is a tendency for MAGA voters to accept Trump fraud for reasons unknown to me. To every official responsible for counting votes I demand rigorous truthful accountability. Trump understands his lies are intended to cause doubts and chaos. Liars are many in our population of klan supporters, confederacy supporters, racist and homophobic bigots. Trump is the most disgraceful POTUS to ever start a war and America is at risk as long as he occupies office.

You are describing what a government "of the people" actually meant to the people who crafted it.

I believe David Jolly can win. I sure hope so anyway. Florida is going to be scary and unlivable REALLY soon if we keep going down this road.
You're wrong on both counts
