Keep digging---maybe Ron gave some of those millions to Big Daddy's Ballroom Fund, hoping to be invited. Indict him.

This is the kind of activity one sees when criminals are running the government.

Sadly it is very unlikely that these criminals will ever be prosecuted for their crimes.

At what point does "bending the rules" become breaking them? Everyone involved in this should be prosecuted. Every Floridian has been screwed by this administration. Republican voters may not realize it, but their rights have been violated just the same as everyone else's.

Can any of these actions be prosecuted?

Desanctimonious is as corrupt as all the rest of these Republican dipshits. But he and his equally corrupt wife are going down.

Day by day, I am becoming more confident that accountability is on the way.

Shouldn't this be illegal? The state shouldn't be allowed to pick a side on an issue that tax payers are deciding and use our own money to persuade people to vote against it? Especially money earmarked by the legislature specifically for other things.

Okay, Sir….what can we do to help with this? Who do we call and where do we write? Will it even help at all? I’m so depressed over all this. Embarrassed to have all this evil taking over our democracy. As a 23-year retired combat disabled veteran who has been a proud American for her entire life, this is overwhelming.

Firstly, JC, you seem to be politically motivated towards the left with every publication.

As an NPA, I want to see the truth in it's purest from, no matter what the politics.

And for what I've been seeing so far, your faithful readers take everything you say as gospel and for never fact checking anything.

As for this article, yes it needs looked into, but....

How accurate is the quoted claim?

Accurate core:

Money that originated as Medicaid funds owed back to taxpayers was diverted away from normal government channels into a charity tied to Casey DeSantis and then into political committees, including one fighting a ballot measure the governor opposed.

This is currently the subject of investigations and serious legal and ethical questions in Florida.

Misleading or exaggerated parts:

The best‑documented figure for this diversion is $10 million, not “more than $35 million,” and it was specifically Medicaid settlement money, not a clearly identified pool of TANF or foster‑care dollars, even though those programs serve many of the same low‑income populations.

Claims that tens of millions raised by Casey DeSantis for hurricane relief simply “disappeared” have not held up under independent fact‑checking, which found that substantial funds were in fact distributed, albeit amid transparency concerns.

With respect, if you read the article carefully, you will see that the new reports do not expand the amount of Hope Florida money allegedly misspent, but disclose additional rerouting of state funds that total (with the Hope Florida funds) more than $35 million. I break that out into bullet points. I am an NPA myself. But being nonpartisan is not the same thing as assuming that both sides of a debate carry equal validity. And this article does not delve into other allegations regarding Hope Florida.

OK, fair enough and especially good to hear that you're an NPA. Political parties as per say should be labeled as unlawful assembly IMO...and yes, for making one LOL!

On top of that, I have a pet peeve for those that are against having open primaries and could use some help in that regard, by going here .... https://flopenprimaries.org/

Disgusting. What is the Florida AG doing about this? No more sleep walking on the job. No more slick and slimy legal argument's! Follow the money; repay the taxpayers, strip the PAC’s and charities involved of their tax exemptions, then hold the directors accountable

Let’s just call it what it is a Republican line as usual, they are only to support themselves not the American people who pay their bill. Will be glad to see the backside of him go.
