WAIT.

I thought the White House was "the People's House"?

How far is "Too Far"?

I'm sure the US Gov ( namely us ) are paying for this Whitehouse remodel. I know one thing it is not being done by anyone from Atlantic City because the orange clown has already stiffed all the NJ contractors. I'm also glad we toured it before King Don the divider put his gaudy orange hands on it. GG

Theoretically, it is being paid for by donors. But even if that's true, nobody gives away that kind of money without an expectation of payback of some sort, so you can bet taxpayers will be paying for this one way or another.

I felt sick when I saw this picture. I used to work for the Treasury Department next door, and my window faced the White House. What a magnificent building! Our building! The current resident, whomever is in office, doesn’t own it and certainly doesn’t have the right to tear it down!

This golden ballroom will cost more than $200m; the amount of faux gold leaf will see to that. It will be more garish than Mar-a-Lago, and utterly devoid of even a scintilla of class. Any semblance of rectitude, decorum, and civility will vanish with the very first "event" in this Room from Hell. Picture, if you dare, the invitees and their partners twirling around and around. Oh, the comedy, the vaudeville, the slapstick!
